Close Event in Le Puy-en-Velay

August 29, 2025

The 29th, from 13h45 to 17h30, Close project will be presented by Greta and the Second Chance School in the Conseil départemental of Haute-Loire. Greta will present and deliver the pedagogical ressources, in particular the Kinokit and the E-book to the diversity of educators, teachers and trainers working with teenagers. The students from the Second Chance School will present their stop motion video and explain how they could reach such a nice result with a minimum of equipment.

Cinemalab Films at Across the Lake International Film Festival

Tonight, two original short films created by students from SOU Josif Josifovski – Gevgelija will be presented at the Across the Lake International Film Festival in Dojran, North Macedonia. The festival runs from August 7 to 12, 2025, and celebrates creativity, youth voices, and global cinema. As part of the official evening program, the audience will experience: The screening will be followed by: Start time: 20:00Location: City Park – Children’s Stage, DojranFree entry These films are the result of the CLOSE Cinemalab, a methodology that combines social-emotional learning with film creation to promote inclusion, empathy, and student agency. International workshop in Florence

This training is organized by Laboratorio Immagine Donna from september 5th to 7th. Teachers and educators from Cyprus, France, Italy and Macedonia will exchange about teaching method to use the cinema as a tool to influence cognitive processes, encourage critical thinking, develop responsible and inclusive attitudes among young people in order to fight gender stereotypes, accepting individual gender identities and promote self-esteem of all students. The CLOSE Kinokit with suggestions and guidelines both for analyzing films and for creating audiovisual products will be presented as a living tool to be used within the project life and beyond. 🎬 “From the Classroom to the Screen” – Multiplier Event in Gevgelija, North Macedonia

On June 27, 2025, the secondary school SOU Josif Josifovski in Gevgelija hosted the official Multiplier Event of the Erasmus+ project CLOSE – Inclusive Educational Environments and Socio-Emotional Learning Through Film.

The event brought together students, teachers, cultural professionals, and parents to celebrate the power of film as a learning tool. It marked the culmination of two years of collaboration between 6 partner organizations from Italy, France, Cyprus, and North Macedonia.

Purple sea

At the occasion of the second transnational meeting, Greta organises a cine forum based on the film Purple Sea by Amel Alzakout & Khaled Abdulwahed on April the 10th at 14h in lycée Simone Weil – Le Puy-en-Velay. “Made from images filmed by the Syrian artist Amel Alzakout after the boat on which 
she was fleeing Syria sank off the coast of Lesbos, Purple Sea reports on the moment in which the co-director and the other passengers are floating in the sea in their lifejackets, waiting to be rescued. Her voice-over accompanies this extremely poignant experience.“ The screening will be followed by testimonials and workshops: What role can the cinema, whether fiction or documentary, play in helping us to understand the world changes and to become aware and responsible citizens?
